Problem linking Tracker to Registration page

The information on setting up a Tracker was slightly confusing, (I don't see a fieldtype of "user", the closest is "user selector")

I'm using Tiki 7

The (default) Registration page has the following fields:

Username:* Password:* Repeat Password:* Email:*
I have setup my Tracker with the following fields:
Field1:* type="user selector" option="1,1" (this field is my Tracker key and should automatically copy the Username from the default form) Field2:* type = "textfield" Field3:* type = "textfield" Field4:* type = "textfield"

I have made all the respective connections through TikiAdmin, and my new form now looks like:

Username:* Password:* Repeat Password:* Email:* Field2:* Field3:* Field4:*

thinking everything was as it should be, I went ahead and registered a test user, upon checking my Tracker Items, I see

Field1 Field2 Field3 Field4
input2 input3 input4

Can anyone assist with where I've gone wrong, and how do I make Tracker (#1) Field1 copy the "Username" Field?

I worked it out ...
Admin Groups > Edit Group "Registered"

Users Information Tracker = "MyTracker" select field = 1-field1 Users Information Tracker Fields Asked at Registration Time = 1:2:3:4

new form now looks like:

Username:* Password:* Repeat Password:* Email:* Field1 (no input box) Field2:* Field3:* Field4:*

upon checking my Tracker, I now see:

Field1 Field2 Field3 Field4
autofilled input2 input3 input4

New problem, along the same lines ....

How do I make the Tracker Item editable?

When I view the Tracker Item I don't see an option to edit the data,
(Fields 2-4 should be editable).

Since this Tracker contains (extra) contact information, I need the items to be able to be kept current.

How do I make the Tracker Item editable?

My Tiki > MY User Items (click it)

takes me to
tiki-view_tracker_item.php?trackerId=&itemId=
... I added dummy var references

move to the "Edit/Delete" tab, and update the info as required

When I view the Tracker Item I don't see an option to edit the data,
(Fields 2-4 should be editable).

Using the method above, all Fields are editable (I'm logged in as Admin)
upon logging in as one of my testusers, I don't see the User Item created when I registered

This is more than likely due to a permission conflict, I'll check into it.

As expected, it was a permissions issue
[Solution]
Admin Groups (Registered)

  • Assign Global Permissions
  • expand the Trackers section
  • check:
    • Can view trackers (tiki_p_view_trackers)

this will allow to view and edit their own item(s) but only view items created by others
