    Hey all,

    I've transfered a Tiki Wiki site from one hosting to another and, even though I managed to get the site up and running (even though there was a problem with the character set but since the site is not permanent it'snot a big deal), I cannot login as admin or any other user to have access to the site's back-end.

    For some reason, it seems that the site is not recoognizing the users, and even when I try to reset the password, I have a message saying that this feature is not activated. Would anybody know how to get out of this?

    Are you able to log in as the admin? If you need to reset the admin password, you can  do so from the MySQL database. See the docs for details: https://doc.tiki.org/Lost+admin+password

    Did you turn on your server and Tiki error reporting to confirm that there are no errors being generated?

    You should also run the Tiki Server Check to confirm that your new host is fully compatible. See the docs for details: https://doc.tiki.org/Server+Check

    Hi Rick,

    Sorry for the late reply, I was on vacation. I ran the tiki-check script and here's what came out (see attached file). I'm not sure I get everything that in there, but could the charset problem be it? Would you happen to know how I can change the php.ini file?

    It seems that your MySQL database is not running?

    Can you reinterate your original problem?

    • Are you able to log in as the admin?
    • Can any users login?
    • What error messages are you seeing?
    • Can you turn on your server error reporting and  check the server logs, too?

    Hi Rick,

    Sorry for the late response, I was on vacation. For some very strange reason since I haven't done anything, users can now have access to the admin panel of the site, which was previously impossible. That a total mystery for me, but it's working...
